People
Keep a list of the people you work with, assign tasks to them with @, and see what each of them owes you.
Each person has a full name, a mention — the word you type after @ to name them, such as @sorensen — and, if you like, an e-mail address. The list is your own record: nobody is told when you assign them a task.
Assign a task with @
Write @ and the person's mention anywhere in a task's name. When you finish the name, the mention comes out of it and the task is assigned to that person: @sorensen Check the parking becomes the task Check the parking, assigned to that person.
Capitals and accents don't matter — @Sørensen works too. An e-mail address or a link is never taken for a person.
As you type @ in a task's name, the people whose mention or name begins with what you typed are listed under the field. Pick one to complete the mention. Where there is no room under the field, the list appears above it; use ↑ and ↓, Return, Tab and Escape as usual.
As you type @ in a task's name, the bar above the keyboard shows matching people. Tap one to complete the mention.
You can also assign a task in the Assigned row on the task's page or form: tick the people in its menu, or choose Add Person….
If nobody answers to the word you typed, it stays in the name as you wrote it, and the task offers Add Person "…". Once that person exists, the task is assigned to them.
A task's card shows who it is assigned to as circles with their initials — up to three, then +N. Click or tap a circle to see that person's tasks.
Name people in a note
Type @ in a note. The menu that opens lists People at the top. Choose one, and their name goes into the note as a link with a person symbol in front; click or tap it to see their tasks. If nobody answers to what you typed, the last row offers Add Person "…".
Naming somebody in a note does not assign anything to them.
Name people in a comment
Type @ in a comment on a task to name a person, the same way as in a task's name. The filed comment shows the person's name, and in the activity the name is a link to their tasks. A word nobody answers to gets an Add Person "…" button under the field.
A comment only names people — it does not assign the task.
Name people in a description
Type @ in a task's description to name a person.
On the task's page, the completion list opens at the word, with people in it. Press Return or Tab, or click a person, to write their name as a link.
Use the bar above the keyboard, as in a task's name. Tap a person to write their name.
A mention you type out in full becomes the person's name when you leave the page or save the form. Naming somebody in the description does not assign the task — only the task's name does.
See someone's tasks
Once your library has people in it, the sidebar has a People section, in alphabetical order by surname. Each person shows the number of their open tasks. Choose one to see the Tasks list narrowed to their tasks; a task you make there is assigned to them.
You can do the same from the Tasks list: choose ⋯ ▸ Assigned To and pick a person, or Anyone to see everyone's tasks again.
Manage the list of people
Click the People heading in the sidebar. It is there even before you add anyone, so you can add your first person there.
The table lists everyone with their name, mention, e-mail and open tasks, sorted by surname. Type in the search field to find someone. Select a person to see their form beside the table: Full Name, Mention and E-mail. Click Save to keep your changes, or Revert to undo them. Click + to add a person.
Show Tasks, or a double-click, opens a person's tasks. Delete Person… asks first.
Tap the People row. The table lists everyone with their name, mention, e-mail and open tasks, sorted by surname and searchable. Tap a person to see their form beside the table: Full Name, Mention and E-mail. Tap Save to keep your changes, or Revert to undo them. Tap + to add a person.
Show Tasks opens a person's tasks. Delete Person… asks first.
Tap the People row for the list of people. Tap a person to open their page, with Full Name, Mention and E-mail.
You can also rename or delete a person from the context menu of their row in the sidebar.
Deleting a person keeps their tasks and only takes the assignment off them. Changing someone's mention changes nothing already assigned: tasks remember the person, not the word.
