Meeting notes
Make a note for a meeting, or link one you already have, so the meeting and what was said in it stay together.
Make a note for a meeting
Click the meeting in the calendar, then choose New Note for this Event in its card. To record the meeting as well, choose Start Recording instead.
Tap the meeting in the calendar, then tap the note button beside Edit and choose New Note, or Record to record the meeting as well.
You can also drag the meeting onto a notebook in the sidebar to make its note in that notebook.
The note is named after the meeting and linked to it, so it appears on the meeting's card straight away.
It opens with the meeting already written at the top, in a Note callout: the name, the day and time, the place if there is one, and who was invited. The cursor waits on the line below, ready for you to write. This is ordinary text — it syncs, exports and prints with the note, and it is still there after the meeting has been deleted from the calendar. You can edit it or delete it like anything else you type.
Link a note you already have
- Click the meeting, then choose Link a Note… in its card — or right-click the meeting and choose the same command.
- Pick the note in the list. Each row shows the note's title, its notebook and its date; type to filter.
- Tap the meeting, then tap the note button beside Edit and choose Link Note….
- Pick the note in the list.
See and open a meeting's notes
In the day and week grids, a meeting with a note linked to it shows a note symbol, so you can see at a glance which meetings have been written up.
The meeting's card lists its linked notes. Click or tap one to open it in the editor. To unlink a note, use ⊖ beside it on the Mac, or its unlink command in the note button's menu on iPhone and iPad.
A link made on one device shows on all of them — the note appears on the same meeting on your Mac, iPad and iPhone, including meetings in a Microsoft account.
